About Catherine
Counselling for Individuals and Couples
About Me
My approach is relational, thoughtful, and engaged. I pay close attention to patterns, emotional safety, and the ways earlier experiences continue to shape present-day reactions and relationships. I aim to offer a steady, respectful space where difficult conversations can happen without blame and where insight can lead to meaningful change.
Whether I am working with individuals or couples, my focus is on supporting stronger internal grounding, clearer communication, and more conscious ways of relating. Therapy is collaborative and active, with space for reflection alongside practical tools that can be applied outside the therapy room.
Professional Background
I am a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I hold an undergraduate degree in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Over the past 25 years, I have worked in a range of clinical and healthcare settings, supporting individuals, couples, families, and other clinicians through complex and meaningful work. I have continued my professional development through extensive courses, workshops and conferences. I truly believe our learning never ends.
Outside the Therapy Room
In my leisure time, you can most often find me cooking, volunteering, hiking, camping, travelling, and spending quality time with my partner of 25+ years, family and friends. Parenting my now adult children continues reap much joy too.
Complimentary Consultation
If you would like to learn more, I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone or Zoom consultation. This conversation gives us a chance to connect, discuss what you are seeking support with, and consider whether working together feels like a good fit. You are welcome to ask questions about my approach and how therapy might support your current concerns.
